Jules Sofa

The Jules Sofa in Manhattan

The iconic Jules Sofa is well known for its distinctive, elegant shape. Its smooth curves, generous seat and gorgeous slanting back allow this sofa to be adapted to suit almost any style. Its versatility has caught the eye of Alison Cayne, mum of five and founder of New York cooking school, Havens Kitchen.

Using only her instincts and her beloved palette of greys, blacks, whites, and the occasional gold-mustard tone she has created a stunning yet practical home. Combining a sense of luxury and practicality, the classic Jules Sofa in ‘yellowy-mustardy’ colour velvet provides a striking feature for the living room. Trim Detail

Trim detail can also be used to personalise the sofa. An elegant and contemporary trim detail can completely change a look, as well as creating a gorgeous texture. Contrasting colours can be used for added effect as well as various lengths of the trim, it really depends on just how wild you want to go!

Nailheads

The Jules Sofa is well suited for nailhead detail, due to the openness of the sofa front. On this piece, nailheads are an eye-catching feature but do not dominate. Instead, they enhance the sofa structure, running along the seams in a graceful line. Combined with certain fabric selections, this luxury finish to the sofa can also give a more ‘edgy’ look to the sofa. See more of our nailhead collection.

One, two or three seat cushions?

While you can, in theory, add in as many seat cushions as you desire, the standard Jules Sofa design offers the option of three different sized seat cushions. Alison Cayne (above, top) chose to have one long loose cushion on her velvet Jules Sofa; this gives the seating a clean, solid look, almost like a fixed seat model, yet with the comfort and more laidback style of loose cushions.

Two larger seat cushions are a popular option for combined comfort and style. For wider Jules Sofas, three cushions are also often chosen for both aesthetic and practical reasons. The sofa picture above is covered in Raoul Textiles Secret Garden in Robin's Egg colour.

Fixed Seat

Of course, you can still opt for the fixed seat variety too. It's up to you!
