George Smith Furniture remains open for business in accordance with UK Government Guidelines. Our working practices have adapted to the current crisis by deploying all staff able to work remotely into home offices across the UK. The factory team have been fully trained in new work practices and re-positioned across the factory floor to comply with regulations, personal hygiene practice is enforced, and consistent sanitisation of all public spaces is undertaken.
Management, Finance, Design & Sales
Our management, finance, design & sales teams remain fully employed and active, we currently have no plans to change the company structure. All team members are set up in home offices around the UK connected with excellent IT facilities – in direct contact with the factory daily our communication levels remain intact. We have been planning at every stage for the potential impacts of the current situation and have an action plan in place.
The workshop/factory strategy is clear – we remain open and continue to follow Government guidelines; we currently have no plans to pause our work.
If site work is required for your project, working practices around social distancing and sanitisation will be upheld during any site presence.
Factory visits would be approximately 10 weeks following the receipt of a deposit; in that time the ban on travel could be lifted. If travel were not possible, we have video & photography resources that can be used for the development & approval process.
On-Going Review of COV19
George Smith practices daily an on-going review of COV19 as part of its current strategy. The board of directors is in daily contact to review the strategy and ensure that we are following government guidelines, producing on time and to specification. We are in a strong position to deliver your orders. We are larger, better located and offer a more complete in-house service than our competitors.
Handmade In Britain
Our furniture is handmade in Britain and delivered directly from our factory in Northumberland. We can currently ensure that processing, production and delivery of your orders remain unaffected and COVID secure.
