Founded in 1963, Annabel’s in London’s Mayfair has built a global reputation over the past five decades as the most elegant and exclusive private members’ club in the world.
Annabel’s list of guests comprises a number of illustrious names including members of the Royal Family, international rock stars and Hollywood greats. To name a few: The Rolling Stones; The Beatles; Jack Nicholson and Elizabeth Taylor.
In Spring 2018, following a lavish redesign, Annabel’s reopened at no. 46 Berkeley Square, just two doors down from the original club. The club continues to offer its members the intimate nightclub environment they have always enjoyed, as well as new spaces which allow the club to create all day experiences.
Art and culture has always been an integral part of the spirit of Annabel’s and this ethos has been kept alive in the new club. Owner Richard Caring has invited a team of world leaders in art, design, fashion and music to collaborate as a cultural council to ensure the club is at the vanguard of creativity. George Smith was commissioned to create many marvellous upholstered furniture pieces, including bold bespoke pieces and bespoke versions of our Cocktail Collection.
Martin Brudnizki Design Studio has overseen the design of Annabel’s at 46 Berkeley Square, retaining the period features of the listed building. The team has painstakingly restored original features including a grand cantilevered stone staircase, elaborate plaster ceilings and majestic fireplaces in the Rococo style.
The club’s leisure areas now spread across four spacious floors and include: The Rose Room; The Elephant Room and The Humidor.
Commissioned by MBDS, our in-house product development team worked closely with the studio to create dozens of bespoke pieces of furniture to sit elegantly within various spaces of Annabel’s.
Imagined with entertaining in mind, George Smith’s collaboration with And Objects presents a collection of stylish, low level seating tailored for both bars and homes that is easy to mix and, most importantly, the perfect place to perch and sip a cocktail or two.
