The Designers

Commune is a Los Angeles-based design studio with a reputation for holistic work across the fields of architecture, interior, graphic and product design. Commune stands for community. The Project

The design respects the home’s historic character and formal layout while introducing a more relaxed, contemporary sensibility through the use of colour, graphic patterns, collected furnishings, and artisanal craftsmanship.

Commune redesigned the kitchen and adjacent areas to create a family-centred hub with a lounge and cozy breakfast nook. The new cabinetry, with its subtle curves, honours the home’s Art Deco roots while blending seamlessly with the original architecture.
