Did the space pose any challenges?

"Chelsea's quintessential townhouses, while undeniably charming, present a unique design obstacle; their narrow and deep floorplans. The main challenge I faced in this project was to craft a functional and flowing family home, with seamless connections between the rooms."

Clare began by selecting the George Smith Emma and Sommerville sofas, and their classic styles provided a strong foundation for the overall aesthetic. Once the sofas were chosen, she turned her attention to fabrics. Drawing inspiration from the existing artwork in the space, she ensured the fabrics would complement the art's colours and texture. This cohesive approach tied the entire scheme together.

What were the key considerations when choosing the furniture?

When selecting the furniture, Clare prioritised two key considerations: achieving a classic and traditional aesthetic and sourcing high quality pieces.

"George Smith's upholstered furniture fit the bill beautifully. Their craftship and timeless designs ensures these pieces will become cherished heirlooms. The brand's focus on comfort and quality aligns perfectly with our client brief of creating a warm and inviting space. The clients desired a timeless look that would feel effortlessly integrated into the home. George Smith’s classic furniture styles, with their clean lines and enduring appeal, perfectly captured this vision."

"George Smith were able to upholster our selected pieces in the fabrics of the clients choosing. The furniture looked as if it had always been there from the moment it was delivered. The comfort of the pieces has also been commented on by the client, who says that they find George Smith furniture relaxing and a restful retreat."
