Benji Lewis is a well established UK-based interior designer with an ever increasing circle of clients. Known for his adaptable approach, he seamlessly integrates design across various periods and styles, designing interiors that are both elegant and timeless.
His portfolio spans an impressive range of projects, from the Chairman’s Office at Universal Music in London to a charming 17th-century cottage in Oxfordshire. Currently, his creative expertise is shaping designs for an 18th-century château, a 1920s Los Angeles bungalow, and a refined Chelsea townhouse.
Benji's design philosophy often embraces the architectural integrity of a space. In this project, he worked with a room featuring a strong sense of symmetry - a chimney breast on one long wall, a centrally placed bay window opposite, and two evenly positioned windows at either end overlooking landscaped gardens.
Drawing inspiration from these elements, he crafted a formal yet inviting layout. The sofa took pride of place at one end of the room, perfectly centred beneath a window, while a pair of Emma chairs mirrored this arrangement on the opposite side. The Emma chairs, known for their neat proportions, were customised by reducing their width by 5cm to better suit the space.
The Soho Baby Drum, a versatile accent piece, was chosen for its ability to introduce a pop of pattern without overwhelming the room. Upholstered in a Schumacher leopard velvet, it added a touch of playful sophistication while remaining practical for entertaining.
