We are delighted to announce the launch of our Outdoor Collection, carefully designed to bring the comfort and splendour of the indoors, outside. Showcasing the best of George Smith craftsmanship, the Outdoor Collection redefines outdoor furniture, with luxury, high-performance, weather-grade design that is built to last. From super yachts to roof-tops, pool-sides to patios, we can offer you personalised, hand-made upholstered furniture that is as comfortable and beautifully finished as our iconic indoor collection.

For many years, we have made outdoor furniture for some of the world’s most prestigious projects. Our skilled in-house design team has used this experience to develop innovative ways of making outdoor furniture that is built to last. 128 of our iconic catalogue designs can be made outdoor with 8 different wood finishes to choose from.

We build outdoor furniture with five key principles in mind: to avoid water damage and keep the furniture looking crisp and stylish for years to come...

1) We will only use high-performing fabrics, particularly solution-dyed acrylic textiles, which means water beads on the surface and runs off. Additionally, we avoid certain designs with areas that could attract moisture so that water can evaporate efficiently off the surface of the piece.

2) Non-mould-forming cushions that don’t retain water are incorporated in the design to keep the interiors fresh, and ensure water does not linger in the furniture.

3) Weatherproof hardware is used on all outdoor pieces of furniture to avoid rusting.

4) Protective covers are also available, to keep the furniture looking crisp and stylish for years to come.

5) The frames are coated in a protective finish and made from Iroko Wood, which is robust and resilient, offering strength and stability. Galvanised springs are used to prevent rusting, and propylene webbing, which is water and UV-resistant, helps water escape.
