Caldera House is an enchanting mix of rustic and modern, chic and casual. The interiors were designed by LA based design duo Commune Design.
Caldera House worked with Commune Design to evoke the early days of American ski culture, whilst at the same time embracing the modern spirit.
Commune values the strength of the collective mind and has a reputation for holistic work across the fields of architecture, graphic design, interior design, product design and brand management.
This wonderful alpine space with cladded walls and natural tones is enhanced by the George Smith Commune Collection, thanks to the versatility and inspired nature of the furniture.
Commune Design
Commune’s collection of handcrafted furniture for George Smith is made up of English classics reimagined for a casual California lifestyle.
Commune played with proportion, customised and simplified frames and legs and introduced natural wood finishes, shearling and washed Belgian linen. The resulting pieces feel at home whether in a John Lautner house in the Hollywood Hills, an urban loft in New York, or nestled in the mountains of Wyoming.
