The new Auriens in the heart of Chelsea is the ultimate in later living, comprising a collection of stunning private residences on London’s King’s Road
When Auriens opened in September 2021, it brought together four world-class interior design studios; Albion Nord, Goddard Littlefair, Richmond International and Brady Williams, to create the supremely elegant interiors. The building itself was designed by architects PDP London.
Auriens blends the style and sophistication of a luxury 5-star hotel with the ambience and exclusivity of a private member’s club. Bespoke pieces of George Smith furniture are featured throughout the interiors, where apartments are complemented by beautifully curated spaces, designed as extensions of residents’ homes.
Bespoke George Smith furniture has been beautifully designed and subtly future-proofed to cater for a range of requirements and no detail has been left to chance.
George Smith worked closely with the designers of Auriens to develop each piece. In the prototype review of these chairs in the photograph, we decided to add castors to the front legs to allow for freer movement. The arm shape was also adjusted, to allow the user to push up more easily from the chair when rising.

“In everything we do at Auriens, we believe in challenging the perceptions around age and later living."
Every aspect of the Auriens residences and services has been meticulously curated to ensure residents have the best at their fingertips.
These are private places for residents to enjoy their time, catch up with family and friends and explore new horizons – whether in the restaurant and bar, entertaining in the private dining room, or relaxing in the drawing room, library, cinema and speakeasy bar.
